Handled properly, that repetition is an asset: translation memory means a new model in an existing family is substantially pre-translated before anyone starts.

  • List every market you place machinery into and confirm the language obligation for each
  • Establish which of your documentation is currently at parity across languages, and which is not
  • Consolidate terminology into one controlled term base before, rather than after, digitisation
  • Build translation memory from the existing estate so future revisions leverage it
  • Define a change process that pushes a revision into every language version, with a measurable lag target
